In an effort to modernize and make Allods Online more realistic, we plan on introducing a new playable Race, the Space Marine!

We wanted to share with you a piece of concept art and hear your opinion on the new playable race!

The space marine will have a number of new customization features however, we’ve pretty much decided that you can only have 1 hair type (bald) for your avatar regardless if you choose male or female.

Space marine specs include:
Racial buff – Automatic 50% strength buff.
Can only use ranged weapons.
Can float through the Astral without ever dying.
Can captain an Astral ship, solo.
100% damage increase from Astral ship cannons.
All damage dealt is critical.
Can create guilds with only 2 members.
Limited to only 1 hair style, hair color, eyes, face type regardless of sex.
Immune to Fear of Death.
Once Space Marine dies, start from level 1 again.

Before we introduce such an amazing Race to the game we wanted to hear your thoughts on the Space Marine. What type of improvements should we make? What additional customization features are you looking forward to? What do you think of our concept art?

Aion: Eye on Community
- Mar 29, 2010

Aion official just displayed the questions players submitted in the lase week as well as their reply of it,moreover, thay also give the forecast of the game in the next week. Therefore, the hardcore of Aion should be pay more attention of the announcement.

“I just got a notification that the server is shutting down in 60 seconds. Can’t you let us know about it earlier when you do maintenance?”

Whenever we plan maintenance, our goal is to tell the players about it at least a day in advance. Sometimes, however, urgent maintenance is needed, and it’s only possible to give a couple of hours’ notice (or less). We try hard to avoid giving players these shorter notification windows. Occasionally, a server has to be shut down and restarted immediately. This is when you encounter the infamous 60 seconds notification message in the game.

Game servers are built out of multiple devices all working together to create the game world and its inhabitants. If one device does not work properly, the rest of the units may be brought down automatically to protect the game world, and an automated 60 seconds notification is then broadcast to allow you to find a safe spot before the server shuts down. So this notification, though abrupt, is a feature provided to give players at least enough time to finish their last combat/crafting, and log out in a safe spot rather than experiencing a sudden crash without warning.

We work hard to make the game servers as stable as possible, but sometimes crashes happen despite our steadfast efforts. Each crash is investigated and followed up with measures to avoid having the same problem occur again in the future.

Here’s what has been going down the past week:
This week we bring you the latest comic strip from Canadian-Rainwater’s OOC comic. I’m sure you’ll love this as much as we do.

A comical view of life on Gorgos by Lianna of OnibawaN. The most recent strip is “We go Dungeon!,” What’s depict is doubtlessly something that’s happened to some of us, if not most of us, in our gaming life.

Quite a few Aion music videos popped up this week. These are all by the same player, Nill on EU Kalil. We bumped into these after viewing what we have fondly started to call “Aionatar” in the office (which is viewable below). It seems that most of the machinima community hails for other music videos.

This video has been emailed about the offices this week, so we thought we’d give it a mention here. If you’re brave enough to come up with your own Aion machinima, send us a mail at the below community address.

ZAM has launched a magazine to promote the new official Aion magazine, and they’re asking you to submit a creative headline by Monday, March 29, for a chance at one of five 12-month subscriptions to the official Aion magazine, Entering is easy. Head on over to the contest page at Aion Tower for more information.

The Eye on Community article series is away for us to highlight activities going on in the community. Please send your submissions to [email protected].

Fly high, Daevas,

—The Aion Community Team

Tibia Spring Patch 2010~!
- Mar 19, 2010

The spring patch is here! In last week's teaser, we already announced the new main fetures it brings along. Let us recall the major changes:

All players are now able to report character names they find disturbing. For more details on how this works, please have a look at the corresponding FAQ.

Premium players can now enjoy two happy hours: Within the first two hours of stamina, which means up to hour 40, they get 50% more experience points

If a character has 14 or less hours of stamina left when killing a monster as the highest damage dealer, the loot of the monster gets destroyed

Besides several improvements of the bot detection tool, characters that are banished now get kicked out of the game within a narrow time frame

In addition to the features presented in the teaser, some further changes have been made. Information about banishments will no longer be displayed on a character page from now on, no matter if the character is hidden or not.

Besides a couple of minor bug fixes, there is now a solution for the error that sometimes occurs when logging out. If the client tells you that you are already logged in with a character even though that is not the case, you will now just have to log in and out with the affected character to solve this problem

The patch will be downloaded automatically when you log into the game. If you should encounter any problems, you can alternatively download the new client 8.55 from our download section.
