In Dark and Darker, players must play in the first-person mode, which is the same as CS and Escape from Tarkov. Dark and Darker strives for high immersion, and adventurers must use their eyes and ears as they would in the real world. Players must target, track, and aim against the countless challenges they encounter. There are also many close-combat weapons with unique patterns to learn and master. Hitting the enemy’s head and back will cause severe damage to them. Strikes to the head and back do critical damage. Knowing how to wield each weapon properly gives the player an edge to survive in this harsh world.

Monsters

The destructive power, life health, movement speed, and action speed of monsters increase with the level. At the same time, the items they drop will be of higher quality as they grow to in level.

Flying type monsters can travel through the air and over terrain, while floating type units do not, they basically act as grounded units.

Monsters are subject to the body part damage modifier system, so hitting them in the head does more damage, while hitting their limbs does less.

Unlike player characters, monsters’ shields are always active, even during their attack animations.

For example, Cave Troll is one of the most powerful bosses that you will definitely encounter while exploring the goblin map. It possesses powerful attacks and moves quickly, making it difficult to defeat.  In addition to being a challenging boss, the Cave Troll also drops valuable loot, including epic weapons, the Lion’s Head Chest, and scattered treasures.

Troll’s blood is also among the items dropped by Cave Troll, and It Heals 1 hp per second for 100 seconds, a very useful consumable in continuous combat.

High-Roller

For even rarer rewards, you can enter the High-Roller Dungeon as a team of up to 3 members.  There are better drop rates for high quality gear. The only way to obtain unique grade items is from High-Roller dungeons. Monsters will appear at Elite and Nightmare grade. The entry fee for High-Roller dungeons is 100g per player.
