September’s Top 10 list comes. In this crisp season, let’s see this month’s top MMORPGs.
Firstly congratulations Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In August it dropped one rank, but awesomely gets back to number 1 in September, and gains the number of unique hits which is 2.5 times of Guild Wars 2. GW2 remains in #2 with slight changes in the number of hits. On the other hand, though it was often reported that WoW is losing players, in September’s rank list, it rises to number 5 and wins over 1.3 millions hits.
This month Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is once full of players. The game company has to enlarge the limitation on the amount of players in each server. So we can know why it can win the high hits. It is because of the support of its fans. In the middle of this month, it announced the game show in Tokyo: The Titan Battle Challenge event, which was a big success. Fantastic, right?
Guild Wars 2 doesn’t change so much. The release of Tequatl Rising brings only the sense of death, destroy and depress. Was this negative atmosphere making players away? It is not sure. Hope the game can learn from this month’s rank that the huge distance between itself from the Top 1 game. We didn’t see this in the rank of previous months.
World of Warcraft updated the newest patch 5.4: Siege of Orgrimmar, featured with the Tier 16 Armor. Meanwhile, Pirates' Day brought lots of joys. Even there weren’t much new contents; it is steadily heading forward, which is recommended for other games. Steady yourself then you will not fear storms.
Long time no see! Last time we saw it was in July. This month Rift ranks at number 8. Let’s see what happened. On Rift facebook you will find this: “RIFT 2.4 has arrived! Whatever your interests may be, from raiding the massive dungeons to dying your hair, 2.4 has something for everybody. Check out the launch trailer and then hop in to the game!” This could be interesting.
Speaking on boom-bust, I firstly remind of Neverwinter. Its first-time show up was in June, as the Top 2 MMORPG, and then came as the number 4 in July, the number 9 in August, finally number 10 in September. Maybe it is waiting for a right time to bloom again. Maybe it is at its wits’ end. Whatever, we still hope it can be in the top ten of next month.
