April’s Top 10 MMORPG in North America

When the spring is drawing to a close, the days are getting hotter now. Last week mmorpg.com released this month’s list of Top 10 MMORPG in North America area. Which game is getting the most click-throughs in this mouth?

Top 10 MMORPG List

Elder Scrolls Online changed the way people look at MMORPGs when it was launched on April 4th 2014.This game may come as big surprise to some players, as a lot of people have a “love it” or “hate it” relationship with The Elder Scrolls, but the fact is, the Elder scrolls online is in the process of being one of the most popular MMORPGs in the entire industry. It has had more than 1,000, 000 hits since it was announced, being number one, which is 4 times more than the second and 10 times than the last one. The other games on this list, of course, also are high-quality games. Let's take a look at this list.

1. Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online is a fantasy MMORPG from Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks based on the popular Elder Scrolls series. The game takes place during the Age of Heroes, 1,000 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and will feature classic regions of the Tamriel game world, including Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls Online will have solo and group questing, public dungeons, guilds, and massive PvP warfare that sets the game's three player factions against one another for control over the region of Cyrodiil and the throne of Tamriel.

Although there are less than 30 days since it was released, but it shows great competitiveness when compared to other games. It has received vocal player support; a decent ranking on our MMORPG.com game list and what early reviews are in seem to be quite positive.

2. wildStar

WildStar

WildStar is an upcoming sci-fi MMORPG with a stylized cartoonish look currently in development by NCSoft’s Southen California-based Carbine Studios. Play will be set on the newly discovered planet of Nexus, once home to the technologically advanced race called the Eldan. Long ago, they mysteriously vanished. Now that the planet has been rediscovered, Explorers, Soldiers, Scientists, and Settlers are coming here from across the galaxy in search of adventure, fortune, and possibly the dark secrets of the Eldan although it was still not put out officially,  it has received vocal player support, gaining more than 280,000 hits in this month. Let’s wait and see what happens in the next month.

3. Guild Wars 2

Guild wars 2

This month, Guild wars 2 released its most much-anticipated feature Pack. The pack brings overhauled systems, new features and several amazing quality of life enhancements into the game. This first feature pack begins a cycle of updates that will be specifically tailored to game systems and features. It is completely separate from the Living Story updates that will also continue as before. For sure, there is little shortage of eye-popping scenery in this game. So, we can still say Guild wars 2 is still powerful enough to retain the initial flood of players.

4. Star Wars: The Old Republic

The latest update, v2.7 called “invasion “was released by The Old Republic. This update features new level 55 flashpoints as well as a new Httball map, a new operation and new Galactic Star fighter mission.

5. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has officially launched. Players who own the PlayStation3 system version of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn can upgrade their accounts to the PlayStation4 system for free. Please note that, once upgraded, PlayStation4 system players will no longer be allowed access to the PlayStation3 system version.

6. World of Warcraft

 World of Warcraft

This month, Azeroth choopers captivated numerous eyes of players. The competition between the Alliance and Horde are still being discussed by players enthusiastically, including veterans and rookies. Their competition will last until next month, as a Blizzard fan, personally, I hope they can get a higher position next month. I wish my dream will come true!

7. Rift

Rift (previously known as Rift: Planes of Telara) is a fantasy free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Trion Worlds.

Rift

The patch, which landed this mouth, opens up a new Tier 3 raid called Bindings of Blood. In this raid, players are experiencing the binding of the dragons from a first-hand perspective, and in so doing they actually change the "present" history of their personal game. These brand new 20-person raids, which contains four portals to four instances, each with its own mini-boss, dragon, and unique theme, will test the willpower of even the most dedicated Rift raiders, as on the PTS not a single guild was able to fall the two big bosses: Greenscale and Akylios.  The instances are on separate lockout timers, and currently two are open with two more scheduled for next month. The bosses are reworked versions of Greenscale, Akylios, Laethys, and Maelforge, and will drop best-in-slot gear and weapons.

8. EverQuest Next

EverQuest Next is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), the successor to EverQuest, EverQuest Online Adventures and EverQuest II. Sony Online Entertainment, the developer and publisher, released further details in August 2010.
The game will also not be a sequel or prequel to any of the games in the EverQuest franchise; it is planned to present to players a "parallel world" of Norrath, one in which some of the locations and characters may be familiar, but specific relationships and events can diverge from the official storylines of the other games.

Archeage

9. Archeage

ArcheAge is an MMORPG developed by Korean developer Jake Song (former developer of Lineage) and his development company, XL Games. . it is described as a "sandpark" MMORPG, which the developers say is a hybrid of the open content style of a "sandbox" game, and the more structured play experience of a "themepark" game. This game features a zoneless world with third person view. It’s well worth checking out!

10. Neverwinter

Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have announced that the next Neverwinter module, Curse of Icewind Dale, will be released on May 14th.

This new module brings a lot into Neverwinter such as a new zone, a new currency resource, two competing factions and much more.

Neverwinter

Some of the new highlights in Curse of Icewind Dale include:
Black Ice: Scattered throughout Icewind Dale, it is the fusion between the sentient Crystal Shard called the Crenshinibon and the surrounding ice of the area. Black Ice has become a major resource within Icewind Dale and players will fight over, harvest, and shape the most powerful gear in the game out of it.
Two New Opposing Groups: Arcane Brotherhood and The Ten-Towners each can offer players different quests and the ability to harvest Black Ice.
Open World PvP: Wanting to earn Black Ice at a faster rate, you can go to areas flagged for PvP and defeat your opponent. Please note that, you will be killed by others from opposing faction. Iconic Icewind Dale Locations: Dwarven Valley, Caer-Konig, and Icewind Pass
New PvE Campaign: New quest lines and Boons will be introduced, as well as the new open world PvE quests called Heroic Encounters which can include over a dozen players at a time.
New Hunter Ranger Paragon Path: There is a new Paragon Path for the Hunter Ranger class called the Pathfinder. It will open up brand new At-Will, Encounter, and Daily powers, as well as three new Class Features and three new Feats.

Time could deflate this rank, sure, but if I had to bet, I'd say with these and other good games on the market, 2014 promises to be an amazing year for MMORPG players. So grab your weapon of choice and jump in to begin your adventure.
