AION GETS INVADED

Invasion, the latest content update has been announced by Aion for free. Invasion launches with today’s patch, it includes several new instances, two new zones, daily login rewards and server versus server PvP. Besides the new content, NCsoft also put out an official trailer to accompany with the launch of invasion. Closely followed with the end of its fifth anniversary celebration, the new 4.7 patch seems like to open a new page for this game. If you want to have a quick look at the new features of this game, look below.

AION GETS INVADED

In the aftermath of the Dragon Lord Tiamat's defeat, a new evil has taken the reins of power. Beritra has found a way to harness Ide through new dimensional technology, allowing his forces to bypass the protective Aetheric Field and launch attacks into the heart of Atreia. As a result, the Elyos and Asmodian forces must push into the newly discovered war fronts of Kaldor and Levinshor to find the source of this invasion. It is up to the players to gain the upper hand in these zones if they are to claim Panesterra and snuff out Beritra's foothold in Atreia once and for all.

There is a 34 page PDF available on the Aion website by which you can get detailed information about this patch. That’s right. 34 pages! This PDF file give whole details exactly with pictures on what’s going on in this patch as well as instructions on how to get to or into the new areas. More than just patch notes, this file serves as a guide for getting your way around the new update. If you’re a lore nut and enjoy Aion, I strongly recommend reading this PDF first, as they do offer plenty of lore tidbits and flavor.

AION news

You can go to Kaldor, a new zone accessible via through either Katalam( Rubirinerk’s or Saparinerk’s Farms) or Levinshor ( South Relay or North Relay, Dragon Lord’s Shrine) which is the first in the notes. The Kaldor is the ashen remains which a constant struggle zone groaning with the consequences of ancient mistake between a new age trying to get over Kaldor’s past and the memory of the old holding it down. Within Kaldor lies Wealhtheow's Keep, a fortress with siege elements.

Not only do player’s fight against one another, but they work together to take over the keep. First, they must defeat the Guardian General stationed outside of the keep before beginning their siege. Successfully sieging the keep will grant a new title. An Anoha summoning can offered the winning team’s Brigade General who can summon Berserk Anoha with this stone. Anoha Sealing stones are needed to activate the sword of Anoha, and the thirty minutes after it’s been activated, Berserk Anoha will spawn. You can see a detailed schedule for the keep in the patch notes.

The other new zone is Levinshor which accessible via teleportation from Katalam( Kaisinel’s Beacon or Daunaur Spire), Gelkmaros (Crimson Temple or Vorgaltem Citadel) or Inggison (Temple of Scales or Altar of Avarice). Levinshor is the territory of Tiamat’s origin and teems with battles between Mastarius and Veille. Levinshor has previously been sealed off, but with Tiamat’s death, a spell was cast to destory the barrier to the zone, which nis now available to both Elyos and Asmodians.

Panesterra, the 100-man siege land available with 4.7, is still not fully as the instance is in beta and more testing is needed. One hundred people per server and faction will be available to enter (for example, Asmodians from two different servers would be able to compete against each other, so it's not always Asmodian versus Elyos), each side getting two of the four available sanctuaries. Each side can fight against each other or work towards fighting their way to and into the central fort, which is also secured by a Guardian Diety similar to Wealhtheow’ Keep. Having access to the fort will grant access to Ahersion’s Flight, once it becomes available.

The Linkgate Foundry and lgdel Dome are the two new instances came along with 4.7. The Foundry is a level 65 solo instance in Levinshor. The linkgate created by Tiamat herself aiming for researching dimensional teleportation is a big challenge for all players working their way through. The Dome is a PvPvE instance where players can create teams of six to take on Beritra’s and one another, all the while trying to beat the 20- minute timer for the game. A third instance, Ahserion’s Flight, will be available for testing, which will be able to as more as 400 players.

The new areas are also subject to invasion at any time by Beritra’s forces, who can also bring bosses with them. The strongest of Daevas are needed for these world’s bosses to defeat. While the invasions themselves appear randomly through the world during set time, the bosses themselves appear at 9pm PT on the 11th of each mouth. About the loot, for invasions and world bosses ,which given to the players varies according to their participation level.

This update also introduces the Atreian Passport, which offers daily login rewards to players. These players who logs in each day will receive one free gift. After seven consecutive days, a special gift will be granted. There is a monthly maximum of logins (but 21 for November) players can hit by logging in, which comes with an even more special prize. Players cannot find any further information about the possible prizes both in press or patch notes, but the patch notes do say that the Passport is accessible form the UI, which is clickable from the skill bar.

Other addition come with the release of 4.7 is item Purification, which allows some armors and weapons to be purified, providing additional bonuses and item stat upgrades. While this have nothing to do with any manastones or godstones already socketed, according to the handy chart in the patch notes, this will remove item skins, which is a bummer. Not all bonuses are upgrades, either. Some stats will change, which means some can actually decrease.  The new NPCs added to both Sanctum and Pandaemonium can help you to purify your equipment.

For those outsiders who like the, the invasion looks like a huge addition to Aion. I did enjoy this game during the time I played it, but as a fansite volunteer at the time, I was burned out by the time the game had launched. That’s the downside of fansites, since a lot of time you’re playing game to find out information for your community, rather than your own enjoyment. Any players who continue to be passionate over the games are welcomed, and I will contribut to fansite over the years! Y’all do good work, if you’re playing Aion, be sure to leave some comments on how you feel about the invasion update and whether you’re enjoying the changes or not.
