Outlook 2012 for MMO games

Happy New Year

Happy 2012, everyone! Now that the New Year has kicked off. It’s always fun to try to predict what’s going to happen over the next year so here is our list of 2012 outlook for MMO games.

Outlook 2012 for Blizzard

Outlook 2012 for Blizzard

In South Korea, the games of American developer Blizzard are huge. StarCraft is a national pastime, and the upcoming Diablo 3 is eagerly awaited. Diablo 3’s real-money auction house is creating a bit of trouble for Blizzard’s targeted simultaneous worldwide release for the game. Korean Ratings Board thinks Diablo 3’s real-money auction house has gambling. Diablo 3's release date is still indeterminate, so technically, it can't be officially delayed. Although, we’ve seen numerous retailers post release dates for Diablo 3. With a reader pointing us to a screenshot of his WalMart pre-order email notification, which states that Diablo 3 will be in stock on March 31, 2012. I think it’s incorrect yet. When Diablo 3 will be released? Good question. The answer is: When it be done. Just like the answer from Blizzard.

For World of Warcraft the Patch 5.0 Mists of Pandaria will be released. But the details you have to ask for Blizzard. I predict we'll be in Pandaria in July and hope it will be much sooner.

Blizzard will reveal their Titan MMO project – We all know it’s going to be a new IP, but that’s basically all we know right now. I predict that this year Blizzcon, they’ll spill the beans.

Outlook 2012 for NCsoft

Outlook 2012 for NCsoft

Not many people have taken a real look at PvP in Guild Wars 2. Why? In the Original Guild Wars, PvP was very much unbalanced due to skills, and secondary professions, all which left a bad stigma for what Guild Wars 2 PvP would be like. Well, you can rest assure that the developers are making an effort to change everything you know about MMORPG PvP, balance all the issues that existed in the original Guild Wars, and seamlessly integrate the experience alongside the core game world.

Guild Wars 2 will gain more players than Star Wars: The Old Republic – I’m having a great time playing SWTOR, but it’s just not different enough to hold my attention in the long run. I predict GW 2 will be released by May and players will flock to GW2 and before 2012 ends, Guild Wars 2 will have a larger active player base than SWTOR.

Outlook 2012 for EA

Outlook 2012 for EA

Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) wins Guinness award for most voice acting. Electronic Arts' long-awaited massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic shipped in late December and quickly grabbed over 1 million registered users. Baird Equity Research says simultaneous usage figures for EA and Ware MMORPG strong, expects sales of 3 million by March, peak player usage figures for the game stand at around 350,000. But there are a lot of bugs plagued EA. Star Wars: The Old Republic player posted a supposed email from BioWare stating that their account had been suspended for looting items from chests on the high level world of Ilum with lower level characters and your dance the way out of troubles etc. Imbalance between the camp, the Empire is winning in The Old Republic's PvP. But BioWare has release Game Update 1.02 and 1.1 for Star Wars: The Old Republic on the public test server.

It is reported that SWTOR's sales fell 30(just in U.K), so I predict SWTOR is hard to exceed World of Warcraft to be the King(in a short time).

Outlook 2012 for Trion Worlds

Outlook 2012 for Trion Worlds

Trion Worlds has sent word that the official Rift mobile application is now live on iTunes. An Android version will be released in beta form later this month. With the Rift app, players can:
•Participate in guild chat
•Play several mini games that can yield planar goods, crafting materials or artifacts
•Keep track of zone alerts

The opposition to the heavy-handed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) has gained another member with RIFT developer Trion Worlds. But Trion Worlds says no to SOPA. Do you think Trion Worlds is crazy? Please read this you will think Trion Worlds is very wise. As we know Sony has been hacked, and the hacker were threatened Sony said: If you continue to support the SOPA. We will wipe you from the Internet. Sony's game divisions have since disappeared from the SOPA support list, but their music publishing divisions remain listed.

I predict everyone has fun in 2012, more peace and love in the world. I predict that the prophecy about 2012 will be the end of the world by Mayans, it is just a joke.
