Guild Wars 2 Final Beta Impression

Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 final beta weekend was over. But we could say that the final beta is the beginning of the fantastic game. ArenaNet has crafted a beautiful open-world that vastly improves upon the more confined spaces of its predecessor, but it's still too early to say how addicting Guild Wars 2 will be.

Even it was only one weekend, many players paid great of attentions on the game. You might find yourself spending a lot of time to create characters and watch impressive opening cinematic – highly stylized introductions of each character’s story based not only on their race, but also their class and the handful of background and your personal choices during character creation.

Guild Wars 2 has eight classes and five races. You can make multiple choices when creating character. But remember no elves or dwarves or orcs. Sylvari looks like dryad or people wearing leaves. Charr are massive hairy creatures who can move on two or four feet. These two races are most interesting. And there are humans who have perfect gorgeous appearance, Norns who are essentially very large humans, and the floppy-eared, high-tech Asura.

While talking on the beautiful cinematic and characters, we would probably feel amazed with the scenes and landscapes of Guild Wars 2. The game eschews realism for its stylized, painterly look and flood of colors – a good choice, and well-executed. All of them are the remarkable works of the Guild Wars 2's producers.

We know that Guild Wars 2 is the sequel. It seems that the game would be an impressively ambitious MMORPG in both its scale and its desire to break conventions. From the experience of the original Guild Wars players, we can see the changes of Guild Wars 2. The more confined, sequenced world of the original is gone in favor of a vast open environment that's geared toward exploration. The unfortunate inability to jump that so plagued Guild Wars has not only been remedied, but characters in Guild Wars 2 can also barrel roll in different directions.

Meanwhile it has kept the good of the original. Guild Wars 2 will only need one purchase to active the game. It is all the money you'll spend until releasing a new expansion pack, or if you decide to buy items from the real-money cash shop of ArenaNet. ArenaNet has stated that it will not offer any items that will make the game pay-to-win, meaning these will most likely be vanity items, which is the way it ought to be.

ArenaNet says they want to do away with the grind altogether. The "Dynamic Events" is fun. Towns will suddenly be attacked by bandits or centaurs or various other creatures and whoever else nearby can earn experience by fighting them off. And the travel grinding is a relief. You gain Waypoints, which can teleport you hither and thither, during exploration.

The combat was still pretty fun in Guild Wars 2, though problem still existed in PvP and PvE. But as much as we had explored in the final beta, we will have even more things to do when it comes. The game is and will be obviously crafted with a great deal of care. But will it be an impressive addition to a crowded MMO market? We will find the answer on the launch day of Guild Wars 2, Aug 28th.
