Aion Templar Introduction and Useful Guilds

In this Aion guide we’ll be taking a closer look at what the Templar is all about.

Unlike the Gladiator, who is mainly a straight out damage dealer, the Templar class leans more towards being able to take a lot of damage and holding aggro. Don’t get me wrong, you can definitely dish it out as well, just not as much as a Gladiator.

You will be wielding a melee weapon and a shield, as many of your skills require the later to be equipped in order to be of any use. This is one of the reasons you won’t be dishing out as much damage as the Gladiator. For defense, you are the toughest class in the entire game. There is no other character that can take as much of a pounding as you. And this leads us to the next point.

Your role in a group will be as a Tank and a leader. Most often you will be picking out the main targets, pulling them in, and holding aggro, while the others in the group heal you, help control surrounding mobs, and of course deal some damage as well, but out of harms way (always make sure that you are the one holding aggro.. don’t let someone else do more damage than you). This is a very important task, and how you choose to handle it can decide whether your group gets wiped out or not.

When it comes to PvP, this becomes even more important. You are going to have to be aware of what your enemies and allies are doing at all times, which of their skills are currently on cooldown, and pulling the correct hostiles away from the healers and low defense characters at the right time.
So if you have leadership qualities, a cool head to stay calm during the most heated battles, and a bit of strategic wit… I’m sure you will love to play as a Templar.
