One part of playing smart in World of Warcraft is to know how to gear your character. That is, wearing equipment that ideally maximizes your ideal trait/role in the party. For Muycaliente over at the forums, it meant asking about the inherently low critical chance (6.93%) priests seem to have. The player further asked if there was a way to balance the low crit out, preferably with any particular gear or enchantments. Blizzard spokesman Nethaera dropped in shortly after with this bit of advice: We're also going to be adding some + damage onto healing gear to help out on that end, but like the other said, I wouldn't worry about the crit chance quite as much in this regard. It can definitely help, but don't get it and sacrifice the +healing for it unless you are getting into crit dependent fights such as some mob fights or PvP. We imagine that note of increased damage for priests will be a quite the pick-me-up for the guys, all the more if you still use the priest as your main. Reiterating Nethaera point earlier, it's still wiser to focus on the healing bonuses (provied you're building as a party healer), and adding crit will just hinder the class' ideal role. |
