The Turbine Account Maintenance site at myaccount.turbine.com will be brought down for maintenance on Wednesday, August 11 from 8:00AM to 11:00AM Eastern (-4 GMT). The EVE official coming mass test on the Singularity test server will occur on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 20:00 UTC. They are looking for at least 300 pilots (500 is ideal) to help them test fleet/jump lag, module activation issues, and session changes. The maintenance should start at 09:00 CEST / 8am BST and end around 13:00 CEST / 12am BST.

Free Character Transfers

Fight on the Right Side
During the free character move period (from July 15, 2010 to August 25, 2010), players characters can score some extra loot by making sure they’re fighting on the right side. Now that the servers have been merged, please make sure that players have characters of only one race—either Elyos or Asmodian—on each of the servers. If players do, they are golden. If not, sign up quickly for free character moves to transfer some of your characters so that you have only one race on a server.

After the server merges they have come to a time of transition. During this time, the official encourage players to embrace this transition as a chance to strengthen the server’s community. It is easy to fall into the trap of excluding or rejecting players or Legions because they weren’t here previously on this server and “don’t know how we do things.” Just as they are resetting the Abyss forts, this is a chance to reset, regroup, reorganize, and strengthen your community.

From the blood and tears of Ayvenas himself comes the newest addition to the menagerie of mounts in Taborea.
First there was the fiery winged "Flame". Resting on the hills of the Howling Mountains, Ayvenas, the maker injured himself and the blood falling to the ground became a winged horse. Running across the fields the horse's burning hoofs threatened to scorch the earth. So Ayvenas felt sorrow and cried a tear that itself became another winged horse, that he called "Star" healing the earth under its gallop.
These new two player mounts are available in the Item-Shop between Wednesday, 07.07 2010, 17:00h CET / 4pm GMT and Friday, 09.07 2010, 23:59h CET / 10:59pm GMT.
How the above 2-Player Mounts work
If you own one of our brand new 2-Player mounts, just mount up. Choose the player you want to join you. By clicking with your right mouse button on his portrait and choosing “invite for a ride” you can get him to join you. The chosen player will receive a popup menu and may either accept or discard the invitation. Once the player has joined you, he will have a user interface to dismount at any given time.
Normally we wouldn't take an opportunity just to debunk an edited screenshot, but given how riled up people already are over Blizzard's upcoming forum change, it seems like it's necessary in this case.
There's a screenshot circulating, which is cropped above, that shows a new "beta version" of the infamous GearScore mod that is able to see your Real ID name -- that is, your real name -- just by mousing over your character. It's not real. We reported on a possible security loophole in addons that could, with enough black magic, reveal your Real ID name -- but this isn't what's happening here.
The creator of the image has admitted that the screenshot isn't real. You can officially cease linking it around and freaking out. We know that the idea your real names being on the forum might be scary, but it's important to keep a level head and not let fear take hold of your behavior, no matter what side of the issue you're on.
The important thing is that Blizzard knows how you feel. Post on the forums and let them know, cancel your account (or don't), and if you want to opt out of Real ID altogether.
